Summer Studio 2026

Summer Studio is a small, curated summer program led by Nicole Hertel in her home studio in Chêne-Bougeries.

Working with a small group of female students, Nicole introduces them to influential women artists throughout history, exploring their lives, ideas, and artistic practices. Each day students develop their own projects inspired by these artists while learning to think critically about art.

More than an arts-and-crafts camp, Summer Studio is an opportunity for young students to engage with art, history, self-expression, and thoughtful conversation. Through this process, students are encouraged to develop their voices, confidence, and creativity in a supportive studio environment.

Enrollment opens March 8, 2026 — International Women’s Day — a fitting moment to begin a program celebrating the work of remarkable women artists!

About the Instructor

Summer Studio is la passion project led by me, Nicole Hertel, a designer and photographer based in Geneva.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Art History and also studied photography during my university years in Seattle, where I worked as an art teaching assistant with young students in a private school. For the past decade, I have worked as a freelance photographer and interior designer, combining a love of visual culture with a thoughtful approach to creative work while also raising my three children.

Beyond my professional practice, I have a deep passion for art history and museums, travel, music, and cooking—interests that often inspire the cultural and conversational atmosphere of the studio.

Through Summer Studio, I am excited to invite small groups of students into my home studio to explore art, ideas, and creative expression in an intimate and supportive environment.
